MOTHER'S DAY

-

Last Sunday, the 2nd Sunday in May was Mother’s Day. My thoughts and heart went out to all mothers who lost their children in the recent bomb blasts. It seems that far too many mothers lost far too many children, an irreparable loss and ache which is always there. Those mother's hearts and arms must yearn for the children they gave birth to, cuddled, teaching them right from wrong, fed and tucked into bed at night. Their dreams must now have turned into nightmares, with haunting memories through each moment of every day. A child is always a mother's pride, hope and joy, bond between mother and child is stronger than others. Mothers are more in tune with a child's development than a father, It is a mother who keeps family ties alive, strong and deep, which often is an epiphanous experience. It is within the mother's role to instill the need to aspire, to open a child's eyes to possibilities, wider horizons; to reach for the skies keeping their feet firmly on the ground with dignity. As mothers and grandmothers, our duty is to do what we can to bring back decent values to our country and do away with hatred, the root cause of terrorism.
