Busi­ness­man fur­ther re­manded

A lead­ing busi­ness­man in Panadura area Mo­hommed Ali Nis­han Fowme who had been on re­mand on sus­pi­cion of his in­volve­ment in ter­ror­ist ac­tiv­i­ties was fur­ther re­manded till May 22, by Panadura Ad­di­tional Mag­is­trate Chan­dana Kalansuriy­a pend­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions. He had been ar­rested on May 7 by Panadura North Po­lice and was pro­duced in court by the Prison of­fi­cials

Sub In­spec­tor Palitha Kan­nan­gara of Panadura North Po­lice sub­mit­ting a re­port to court in­formed the mag­is­trate that the po­lice was con­duct­ing fur­ther in­ves­ti­ga­tions of the suspects in­volve­ment in ter­ror­ist ac­tiv­i­ties.

He told court that the Panadura North Po­lice had in­formed the CID and the Ter­ror­ism In­ves­ti­ga­tion Di­vi­sion of the Po­lice Head­quar­ters and they had not shown any re­sponse. He moved that the sus­pect be fur­ther re­manded. The Ad­di­tional Mag­is­trate who up­held the re­quest and or­dered the po­lice to record a fur­ther state­ment from the sus­pect.
