Resolution adopted to take over land of suicide bomber

A resolution brought in by the Matale Pradeshiya Sabha to take over a 22-acre land at Hathamunagala, Matale belonging to the suicide bomber of the Shangri-la Hotel was unanimously passed on Tuesday at the Pradeshiya Sabha meeting. The meeting was convened and presided by its chairman Kapila Bandara Hendeniya.

PS member Nalaka Bandara Kottegoda bringing in the resolution said the land could be utilized for garbage recycling.

Chairman Kapila Bandara said a request would be made through the District Secretary in this regard after the legal proceedings were completed.

The suicide bomber Insan Seelavan had purchased the said land six months ago.
