‘Bunker Ku­rutu Gee’ book launch to­day

‘Bunker Ku­rutu Gee’ a col­lec­tion of graf­fiti scrib­bled by sol­diers who were cap­tured and encaged be­hind ter­ror­ist en­emy lines will be launched to­day un­der the aus­pices of Pres­i­dent Maithri­pala Sirisena and se­cu­rity forces heads at the Sri Sam­bud­dhathwa Jayan­thi Mandi­raya at 4.00pm The col­lec­tion of graf­fiti com­piled and edited by jour­nal­ist Charith Kiriella has been pub­lished by Arya Foun­da­tion and will be launched on May 18 to mark ten years of the com­ple­tion of civil war in Sri Lanka. The Pres­i­dent, Sec­re­tary De­fence, three forces Com­man­ders and se­nior mil­i­tary of­fi­cials will grace the oc­ca­sion whilst key­note speeches will be de­liv­ered by Jack­son An­thony and Nayanaka Ran­wella.

Pop­u­lar mu­si­cians Saman Lenin, Dayan Witha­rana, Du­vin Ku­laratne and An­thony Suren­dra will make per­for­mances. The en­tire in­come from the sale of the book will be do­nated to wel­fare and char­ity of dis­abled war heroes.
