SLNS Samudura in S’pore for IMDEX
SLNS Samudura, which left for Singapore to participate in the International Maritime Defence Exhibition (IMDEX) called at the Port of Changi, Singapore on May 12.
The Singapore Navy warmly welcomed the vessel and the crew in with customary naval traditions. Sri Lanka’s Acting High Commissioner to Singapore, O.L. Amarajeewa and officials were present on this occasion.
Navies of 33 countries with 16 Navy Chiefs and officers from six Costal Agencies participated at the IMDEX Exhibiiton.
The crew of Samudura took part in several exercises, which included basic communications, flag hoisting, firefighting and damage control, action station and action messing, man-overboard drill and safe-keeping boat-distance line.
