Govt. should clarify its position -Susil

Whether it was govt.’ view or minister’s personal view

- BY DAYASEELI LIYANAGE

The former minister Susil Premajayantha said the government should clarify its stance on the statement made by Minister Mangala Samaraweera that Sri Lanka is not a country of Sinhala Buddhists.

He questioned whether it was the government’ view or minister’s personal view.

This controversial statement by the minister has created a confusion in the country as the United National Party government has not yet rejected his view.

He further said, that reckless statement by ministers aggravate the already confused situation prevailing in the country.

It is unbelievable how a conflict environment erupted in several parts of the country after three weeks of the terrorist attacks while the people were very calmly responding to the unexpected tragedy, he stated.
