Ten grams of heroin: two arrested

Two suspected drug peddlers, who had in their possession ten grams of heroin, were arrested by Kalutara Division Law Enforcement Unit during a raid in Welipenna.

The Police said the individuals had been carrying on the racket as advised by underworld gangster on remand known as “Josa”- believed to be a confidante of Makandure Madush.

The suspects were arrested when they had in their possession ten grams of heroin.

The suspects were of 19 and 23 years of age and residents of Bondupitiya in Welipenna.

They were handed over to Welipenna Police for further action.

A Police team under OIC Law Enforcement Unit SI Thilanga Sanjeewa carried out the raid on the instructions of Matugama ASP Sanjaya Irasinghe and SP Kalutara Division Upul Nilmini Ariyaratne.
