Sev­eral ob­jects and tem­ple wares re­quired for Poo­jas in the Kataragama Maha De­vala was of­fered to the De­vala dur­ing a cer­e­mony held on the We­sak full moon Poya Day. The req­ui­sites made of gold in­cluded two tra­di­tional oil lamps, a pitcher, a cam­phor burner, a jug and a flower stand.

The req­ui­sites had been turned out with gold do­nated by the pil­grims and the busi­ness com­mu­nity. Bas­nayake Nil­ame of the Maha De­vala Dil­ruwan Rajapakse who re­ceived the stock of tem­ple wares handed over it to the Chief Ka­pu­rala T. Somi­pala Rat­nayaka.

Com­man­der of the 12 Brigade in Ham­ban­tota Mjr. Gen. Deepthi Jay­atilleka, For­mer Di­rec­tor, In­for­ma­tion Ranga Kalansuriy­a, Bud­dhist Af­fairs Man­age­ment Asst. P.H.P. Ku­marage, Di­rec­tor , Na­tional Gem and Jew­ellery au­thor­ity, Di­vi­sional Sec­re­tary A.M. Nan­dasiri and Chair­man of the Kataragama Pradeshiya Sabha Amil Ran­gana were present at the oc­ca­sion.
