Fairfirst Insurance and Cash Wagon hog limelight

Sponsors Fairfirst Insurance and debutants Cash Wagon hogged the limelight in the 2nd Fairfirst Insurance Trophy – MCA “F” division 25 Over League Tournament 2019 which got off to a start.

Fairfirst Insurance and Cash Wagon made winning starts, as they beat Mclarens Group by five wickets and Astron Lanka by 30 runs, respectively.

The match winner for Fairfirst Insurance was Isuru Sampath, who stroked a rock solid 67 runs off 52 balls, inclusive of two sixes and six fours.

Malshan Rodrigo was the top-scorer for the weekend as he hit a belligerent 88 off 49 balls, including eight sixes and six fours, to help Cash Wagon make a memorable debut.

Other notable performances came from: Kavinda Perera from Asia Capital (5 for 25 vs. HSBC “C”), Sathira Fernando from Brandix Essentials (78 not out vs. Cargills Bank) and Asela Wewalwela from AMW (75 not out vs. Mast Far East).
