A queer business deal!

-

There is a fair Diyawanna deputy, who has made an unusual arrangement to purchase a road construction raw material from one State-owned undertaking (SOU) for sale to another SOU at a huge profit.

She is procuring the raw material in question from the SOU through a private company, which is acting as an intermediary.

Both SOUS are losing on this queer business deal which could be carried out as a direct one between them to their mutual advantage, they say.

The top team member in charge of the portfolio has reportedly turned a blind eye to the nefarious activity of the fair deputy, saying that he has got his hands full with enough responsibilities and the latter is said to be taking the advantage of the leeway given to her to make money through shady deals.

When a group of party organizers had urged that a certain provincial bigwig be removed without delay, they had been asked to remain patient for another five months.

The organizers in response had whispered to one another that the five-month grace could be an excuse to allow the person to remain for a longer period.

This meeting had taken place at a ‘very high place’. The organizers who were critical of the conduct of the bigwig had asked in one voice that the latter be given the walking papers.

“Be patient for five months!” had been the high authority’s reply.
