SHOWERY CONDITION TO ENHANCE

Showery condition was expected to enhance to some extent over most parts of the island, particularly in southwestern part, Department of Meteorology Assistant Director Athula Karunaratne said. He said fairly heavy falls about 100 mm could be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern and Uva provinces.

“Showers or thundershowers would occur at times in Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern provinces,” he said.

Showers or thundershowers would occur at several places elsewhere after 2.00 p.m.

As there might be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers, general public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
