LANKAN ROTARACTORS HUDDLE TOGETHER FOR PEACE, CO-EXISTENCE

-

Over 250 youth in the country will gather at Sri Lanka Foundation Auditorium tomorrow (May 25) for the 28th Rotaract District Conference focusing on the ‘Role of Youth in Peace building and Co-existence’.

The Rotaract District Conference is the annual gathering of all Rotaractors in Sri Lanka and Maldives with the objective of providing opportunities for networking, active learning and discussion of contemporary trends in youth development.

Rotaract as the youth Programme of Rotary International that has been driving impactful social initiatives around the world is an all in one hub for inclusive youth development. Rotaract Sri Lanka with its footprint in six provinces comprising over 65 clubs across the Island, is an ideal platform to address

contemporary issues with innovative and sustainable solutions.

Keeping in line with the year’s theme of District Rotaract Representative Rtr. Amjath Yoosuf “Inspire the Future”, Rotaractors believe spreading the art of peace and co-existence beyond Rotaract is an indispensable need of the hour. Thus, ‘Youth in Action - Peace Vigil’ is introduced as a special element of the Conference to provide an opportunity for young people to share their voice on the ‘Role of Youth in Peace-building and Co-existence’ and to celebrate the diversity.

Future is not fate; it’s what we create; not with violence but with Peace. Join us at the “Youth in Action – Peace Vigil” from 5.30 pm to 7.00 pm at the Sri Lanka Foundation’s open garden, if you believe building a resilient nation with love and harmony is the ultimatum to follow.
