Tree feller falls to his death

An individual pruning a tree near Mahagoda temple in Buttala fell down from the tree and died on admission to Monaragala General Hospital. The victim Nuwan Chanaka (29) was a resident of Maduruketiya in Monaragala and father of a child.

Investigations revealed that he was a casual labourer of the Department of Agriculture and that he had been working on his off day yesterday under a private contractor of the State Timber Corporation who had undertaken to cut down a tree by the roadside. Buttala Police are conducted investigations.
