Twenty three suspects arrested by security personnel in Narahenpita

Twenty-three suspects, including a woman, were arrested during a special search operation carried out by the police and the military personnel in the Narahenpita area from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. yesterday.

Military personnel found 15 kilogrammes of explosives, six jungle swords, several army caps, 14 cartridges of a 16-bore gun, 29 mobile phones, several communication units, two tablet PCS, four milligrammes of heroin and Rs.137, and 820 in cash from five houses at Dabare Mawatha during the raid. The Narahenpita Police is conducting further investigations.
