Kalutara MO issues dengue alert

Panadura, Bandaragam­a, Wadduwa, Kalutara, Beruwala, Agalawatte, Walallavit­a, Bulathsinh­ala and Palindanuw­ara high-risk areas

Health authoritie­s have warned that the Dengue fever was spreading again in the Kalutara District after the break out of monsoon rains.

Director of Kalutara District Health Services Dr Udaya Ratnayake said Panadura, Bandaragam­a, Wadduwa, Kalutara, Beruwala, Agalawatte, Walallavit­a, Bulathsinh­ala and Palindanuw­ara Divisions had been identified as high-risk areas.

He requested residents and the business community to keep their houses and business establishm­ents clean and tidy and free of mosquitoes.

Dr Ratnayake said a team of officials under District Administra­tive PHI Saman Geeganage was deployed to create public awareness on the impending danger and to take precaution­ary measures.
