SL ‘A’ reeling after India’s massive 622/5

Sri Lanka ‘A’ were struggling at 83 for four after India ‘A’ had piled up a massive 622 for five in their first innings on the second day of their First Unofficial Test which continued at the Union Gymkhana Ground in Belgaum, India yesterday.

In fact, the visitors lost their first four wickets for just 50 runs before Skipper Ashan Priyanjan and wicket-keeper batsman Niroshan Dickwella rescued the side with an unfinished fifth wicket stand of 43 runs.

Earlier, India ‘A’ continued to frustrate the Sri Lanka ‘A’ bowlers as they went on to pile up 622 for five declared in the first innings.

Opener Abhimanyu Easwaran continued with the good work and went on to compile a magnificen­t 233 from 321 deliveries which included three sixes and 22 boundaries. (Agencies)
