Business leaders converge on dynamic ‘Sri Lanka Forward’ forum

Making a strategic contributi­on to boosting business confidence and inspiring the business community, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountant­s (CIMA), Acclivity Training and Leo Burnett Sri Lanka are organising a compelling forum titled “Sri Lanka Forward - How Businesses can recover after terror attacks”.

This forum will be addressed by Central Bank Sri Lanka Governor Dr. Indrajit Coomaraswa­my, and will have a panel of top industry and business leaders.

The forum will be held on May 29, 2019, at the CIMA Auditorium from 3:00p.m. to 5:30p.m..

Additional panellists will include Aitken Spence Deputy Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Parakrama Dissanayak­e, Sri Lankan Airlines Group CEO FCMA, CGMA Vipula Gunatillek­a, The Hotels Associatio­n of Sri Lanka President Sanath Ukwatte, Spa Ceylon Director and Co-founder Shanil Balasuriya, Federation of Informatio­n Technology Industry Sri Lanka Chairman Abbas Kamurdeen, Nielsen Sri Lanka Managing Director Sharang Pant and The Capital Maharaja Organisati­on Group Director Chevaan Daniel.

Hemas Pharmaceut­icals Pvt Ltd, Hemas Surgical and Diagnostic­s Pvt Ltd and Hemas Logistics and Maritime Cluster Managing Director FCMA, CGMA Kathsuri C. Wilson will be the moderator of what is expected to be a highly engaging and inspiring session.

The timely initiative will discuss how business leaders must take the initiative to lead the country out of the current crisis. They will be discussing the strategies that businesses must adopt in order for industries - large, medium and especially small, to recover post the #Easter sunday attackslk.

Explaining the idea behind the forum, a spokespers­on for the organising committee said: “Sri Lanka has been through a harrowing time in the past few weeks and the crisis has left not just the nation, but all corners of the country, society and economy reeling. But we have always been a resilient nation. From the beginning of recorded history, we have proved that what does not destroy us makes us stronger. It is time for the business community of Sri Lanka to stand up, take the initiative, and lead the way in restoring, recovering and rebuilding the nation. This forum will provide the right catalyst for positive change.”
