-

Fashion Bug launched Sri Lanka’s first attitude and behaviour development training training programme for threewheel drivers in Kandy.

Fashion Bug ‘Three Rodha Ratha Abhishekaya 2019’ is in accordance with the company’s vision to educate residents in Sri Lanka’s most neglected regions; a part of the initiative being to make a positive impact on society while helping the tuk-tuk drivers improve their knowledge, responsibility and ethics.

The initiative which was initially launched in Kandy received a staggering 3,000 registrations from three-wheel drivers, of which 500 were selected to partake in the programme, based on a fixed criterion.

Through continued evaluation, a final top three programme completers received financial grants in the denominations of Rs.50,000, Rs.75,000 and Rs.100,000.

This year’s main function was held at the Hindu Cultural Centre, Kandy, on March 17, 2019, and welcomed over 500 attendees.

The event hosted chief guests - Transport and Civil Aviation State Minister Ashok Abeysinghe and Kandy Region DIG D.R.L. Ranaweera.

Commenting on the initiative, Fashion Bug CEO Shabier Subian said: “The Fashion Bug ‘Three Rodha Ratha Abhishekaya 2019’ is the first event that focuses on three-wheel drivers in Kandy.

Through a series of evaluations, the programme focuses on advanced criteria to assist in behavioural and personality development.”

As the three-wheeler becomes the preferred mode of public transport amongst Sri Lankans, with over 1.3 million vehicles at present, Fashion Bug strongly believes in supporting its community in every way possible, whilst reducing the gap in customer-service training for individual drivers who turn to a career as a three-wheel driver.

The programme aims to create an atmosphere of continued learning - teaching its participants the essence and importance of a developed behaviour and attitude, leading to a better customer experience.
