Bud­dhist del­e­ga­tion from Thai­land meet Pres­i­dent Sirisena

Bud­dhist rep­re­sen­ta­tives in­clud­ing the Maha Nayaka Theros of Thai­land met with Pres­i­dent Maithri­pala Sirisena at the Pres­i­dent’s Of­fi­cial Res­i­dence.

They ex­pressed their hap­pi­ness over the re­cov­ery of Sri Lanka af­ter the Easter Sun­day ter­ror at­tack and said that as a Bud­dhist coun­try, Thai­land will al­ways stand up with Sri Lanka.

The Pres­i­dent ex­pressed his hap­pi­ness over the visit of the Maha Nayaka Theros and re­called the long-stand­ing re­la­tion­ship be­tween Sri Lanka and Thai­land as Bud­dhist coun­tries.

The Bud­dhist rep­re­sen­ta­tives who vis­ited Sri Lanka last 21st un­der the pa­tron­age of Phra Bhawanakhe­maku wat Ma­hey­ong Thero trav­elled to var­i­ous places in the island dur­ing the past few days and joined in view­ing the Ve­sak cel­e­bra­tions.

The del­e­ga­tion also of­fered Bud­dha stat­ues to many tem­ples in the Eastern Prov­ince.
