Buddhist delegation from Thailand meet President Sirisena

Buddhist representatives including the Maha Nayaka Theros of Thailand met with President Maithripala Sirisena at the President’s Official Residence.

They expressed their happiness over the recovery of Sri Lanka after the Easter Sunday terror attack and said that as a Buddhist country, Thailand will always stand up with Sri Lanka.

The President expressed his happiness over the visit of the Maha Nayaka Theros and recalled the long-standing relationship between Sri Lanka and Thailand as Buddhist countries.

The Buddhist representatives who visited Sri Lanka last 21st under the patronage of Phra Bhawanakhemaku wat Maheyong Thero travelled to various places in the island during the past few days and joined in viewing the Vesak celebrations.

The delegation also offered Buddha statues to many temples in the Eastern Province.
