Get permission, med­i­cal ad­min of­fi­cers told

Med­i­cal ad­min­is­tra­tive of­fi­cers in hos­pi­tals and other in­sti­tu­tions, which func­tion un­der the Health Min­istry, have been ad­vised to ob­tain permission from the Min­istry Sec­re­tary prior to mak­ing pub­lic state­ments, other than on tech­ni­cal mat­ters, the Health Min­istry said yes­ter­day. Act­ing Di­rec­tor Gen­eral of Health, Lal Panapi­tiya said permission from the Min­istry Sec­re­tary was manda­tory espe­cially to hold news con­fer­ences.

He said all med­i­cal ad­min­is­tra­tive of­fi­cers had been no­ti­fied and em­pha­sized that
