SL needs quality politicians

Some people say that we would have been better off if we continued under British rule without gaining independence. I don’t agree. Anyway looking back we have not achieved much after independence. Transport wise we have an expressway and added a few km to our railways this year. Poverty and income disparities have reached alarming heights.

Nationalism is bleeding the country to death. The people responsible for the current state of affairs of Sri Lanka and their Alma Maters. What I cannot believe is most of them have been educated at the best of schools we have and their dismal performance in the selected profession. They together have to their credit may be debit Sinhala only in 24 hours, Nationalization policy, loss making GOBA’S, Presidential system, Nationalism, Standardization of A/level marks, rampant bribery and corruption and hooliganism in Parliament. We need to breed some quality politicians to take Sri Lanka to the 22nd century.’’
