RDB appoints Development Assistants

-

The Regional Development Bank (RDB) appointed 304 employees to fulfill the Development Assistant position at a ceremony held at the auditorium of the Ministry of Finance with the presence of Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera as chief guest, on May 22, 2019.

Welcoming the minister and addressing the gathering, RDB President Sujith Prasanna Kariyawasam said that the main social and economic development programme called Enterprise Sri Lanka aims to create a paradise for entrepreneurs, and the staff recruited on that day were given the opportunity to contribute.

He expressed that it is their responsibility to serve to that purpose and he looks forward to their support in the programme.

At the occasion, Minister Samaraweera remarked that according to his experiences, the customers who come to banks to get loan facilities to fulfill their different needs, especially entrepreneurs, are often let down due to the lack of proper facilities. Therefore they are deprived of obtaining financial facilities.

Further, he mentioned that Enterprise Sri Lanka was brought up as a solution so that anyone who is planning to startup a business or anyone who is currently engaged in a business can get loaning facilities with low interest rates easily.

As one of the main social economic development programmes, Enterprise Sri Lanka is being successfully carried out by RDB and it is expected that the newly appointed staff would continue to carry out the services responsibly.

Finance Ministry Deputy Secretary to Treasury A.M.P.M.B. Atapattu, Finance Ministry Coordinating Secretary and Chief of Staff Thusitha Halloluwa, RDB General Manager and CEO T. Kuhan, RDB Human Resource Development Head Jagath Karunathilaka and RDB Senior Assistant General Manager K.P. Dahanayake were also present at the event.
