IFTHAR..

-

In the spirit of most people trying hard to foster communal harmony and unity, I accepted an invitation to the first Ifthar I had ever been privileged to attend. It was a pleasure to meet and chat to many interesting young people all involved in teaching English at WINNER, a teaching institute helping young people to get ahead in life thus enhancing both their knowledge and their lives. Among those were Zainab, daughter of Rauff and Shanaz

Hakeem who I have known since her childhood, now a self confident young mother, intent on service to others with the bonus of her lovely smile. Tanya and

Rukshi taught English, the former and Sujith were both dog lovers like me and we had much in common despite the generation gap. Yochini from Point Pedro was a student learning English, a young lawyer working at the AG'S department and Ajman a lifelong friend of Arshard, the man behind WINNER who was the host works at Dialog. It was an interesting mix of people, including a Buddhist monk from Galle, also learning.
