SEASIDE GETAWAY
My children, sensing my depression, persuaded me to accompany them to the seaside last weekend. Hotels offered very good deals and we stayed at Hikka
Tranz. The hotel was packed with Sri Lankans and a few foreigners. My room had a balcony overlooking the sea where I loved to sit reading while looking at the sea. It was blue in the distance and as the waves foamed into shore became a soft green. A clump of rocks nearest to shore resembled elephants in water, which gave me a feeling of security. I was sure that the Lord of the jungle, also the symbol of my party would protect me through day and night. It was an opportunity for prime time with my grandchildren who when not with me were in the water or feeding the turtles. The food was excellent at the hotel, a wide spread of every conceivable meat, seafood and vegetables.
