FEMALE LAWYER ARRESTED

FOR OBSTRUCTING POLICE DUTIES

A female lawyer was arrested for obstructing duties of a woman police constable at the Colombo High Court premises, Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekara said.

The lawyer had allegedly scraped the skin of the WPC attached to the Keselwatta Police when she attempted to search the lawyer at the entrance

He said the lawyer had allegedly scraped the skin of the WPC attached to the Keselwatta Police when she attempted to search the lawyer at the entrance.the woman cop lodged a complaint with the police about the incident.the lawyer was arrested after recording a statement.

The 51-year-old lawyer who is a resident of Talangama North was released on bail after being produced in the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court.

She was released on a surety bail of Rs.100,000.
