TWO MORE MINISTERS AND A STATE MINISTER APPOINTED

Two new Ministers and a State Minister were sworn in before President Maithripal­a Sirisena at the

President’s

Official Residence, yesterday.

Accordingl­y, Public Administra­tion and Disaster Management Minister Ranjith Maddumaban­dara also took oaths as the Minister of Rural Economic Affairs in addition to his current portfolio before President Sirisena.

Minister of Agricultur­e, Rural Economic Affairs, Livestock Developmen­t, Irrigation, Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Developmen­t P. Harrison was sworn in as the Minister of Agricultur­e, Livestock Developmen­t, Irrigation and Fisheries

and Aquatic Resources Developmen­t sans the portfolio of Ministry of Rural Economic Affairs held by him previously.

In addition to the these changes in the cabinet, Parliament­arian Wasantha Senanayake was sworn in as the State Minister of Foreign Affairs, which he held before October 26, 2018, the day President Sirisena replaced the UNF government led by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesi­nghe with a UPFA government led by Mahinda Rajapaksa.
