Ministry will go ahead with environmen­tal assessment: dy. minister

Deputy Minister Developmen­t Strategies and Internatio­nal Trade Nalin Bandara Jayamaha said his ministry will go ahead with an environmen­t assessment study on the proposed steel factory in Trincomale­e.

Deputy Minister Jayamah told a press conference yesterday that Board of Investment will go ahead with the environmen­t assessment study. The “BOI” will go ahead with the environmen­t assessment as the Cabinet nod has been received for it,” he said.

Deputy Minister said the implementa­tion of the project depended on the environmen­t assessment study. He said the total investment of the project would be one million US dollars.
