Foreign nationals involved in various developmen­t projects in this country are said to be freely bringing in large quantities of cigarettes and beer along with other goods despite the temperance program, Mathata Titha (End to Alcoholism) being implemente­d by the Government.

Meanwhile, a very high political authority has reportedly issued a fiat that those involved in various projects in the country be allowed to import their requiremen­ts without any hindrance.

Employees engaged in projects in the constructi­on sphere are said to be getting the cigarettes and beer thus brought into the without any hindrance, they say.

Agroup of uniformed ones had, the other day taken into their custody a six-wheel vehicle and several dairy cows, which were being illegally transporte­d along with the culprit, but they had to release them all even before questionin­g the culprit on an order given by a political authority over the mobile phone.

Even a uniformed high-up sporting two stars is said to be behind this illegal cattle transport racket.

Some uniformed high-ups too had shared the kickback offered by the racketeer to get the vehicle and the cows released, they say Courtesy:
