Over 1,800 telephone numbers
More than 1,800 telephone numbers used by the Easter Sunday suicide bombers and others are being closely scrutinised by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekera said yesterday.
SP Gunasekara said several telephone numbers among the 1,800 numbers belonged to those who had connections with suicide bombers.
He said investigations into the Easter Sunday bomb attacks on April 21 were being successfully carried out by the CID and the Terrorist Investigation Division (TID).
“Twenty six (26) computers including 23 laptops, 138 mobile phones and tabs, 30 external hard disks, 12 pen drives, 142 sim cards and 67 CDS, DVDS and DVRS were taken into custody and analysed by the CID in connection with the Easter Sunday attacks,” the Spokesman said.
He said 66 suspects including seven women were detained and are being questioned by the CID while 21 suspects including two women who were arrested over the attacks are being questioned by the TID.
