Police sergeant arrested with 12-bore gun

A police sergeant who had in his possession a 12-bore gun and three live cartridges was taken into custody by Meegahathenna Police. The suspect was a police officer attached to a police station in another area and a resident of Meegahathenna. He was travelling by trishaw when he was arrested by a police team that searched the trishaw on suspicion. Sergeant 19180 Gamini is conducting further investigations on the instructions of OIC Meegahathenna Police IP Ariyawansa.
