Jathika Sangha Sammelanaya wants people and Bhikkus to join Ven. Rathana Thera
Jathika Sangha Sammelanaya President Ven. Liyanwala Sasanaratana Thera yesterday urged all peace loving Sri Lankans including Bikkhus to join Ven. Athureliye Rathana Thera’s effort to save the nation from terrorists.
Ven. Rathana Thera began a death fast yesterday calling President Maithripala Sirisena to remove Minister Rishad Bathiudeen, Western Province Governor Azath Salley and Eastern Province Governor M. L .A. M Hizbullah from their posts.
“It is the duty of all citizens to support Ven. Rathana Thera to get the political leaders who support terrorists out of their posts,” the Thera said adding that making statements was not sufficient.
Crowds heading towards the Dalada Maligawa were increasing by last evening and area came under heavy security.
Monks who gathered near Ven. Rathana Thera chanted pirith.
