State of Emergency won’t be extended: Speaker
The state of emergency imposed after the terror strike on April 21 will not be extended further, Speaker Karu Jayasuriya said.
He told Daily Mirror that the state of emergency was currently in force for a month and would not be extended any further.
At a meeting with foreign envoys, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe had assured them that the security situation in the country had improved and requested foreign countries to modify their travel advisories.
