Sharmal, Rukmal claim Men’s Doubles

Sharmal Dissanayake bagged his second title at the Clay courts Tennis Nationals when he partnered with Rukmal Cooray to clinch the Men’s Open doubles title by defeating the top seeds Yasitha de Silva and Sankha Athukorale in the final played at the SLTA Courts in Green Path, Colombo yesterday.

Earlier, Sharmal overcame the defending champion Dineshkanthan Thangrajah to bag the Men’s Open singles title.

Meanwhile, v. nilaweera and Hasal Ahangama qualified to play in the Boys’ Under-14 final.

In the Boys’ Under-14 doubles, Hesara Kuruppu and Thushan Senanayake booked their berth into the final.

They will meet the combination of Anujaya Abeywickrama and Hasal Ahangama in the final.
