SHOPS IN CP CLOSED TODAY FROM 3 TO 5 PM

All shops in the Central Province will be closed today from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm in support of Ven.athuraliye Rathana Thera who is engaged in fasting before the Sri Dalada Maligawa,traders Associations said.

Chairman of the Traders Association of Dambulla Economic Centre U. B. Ekanayaka said all shops in the three districts of Matale, Kandy and Dambulla will be closed for business during the mentioned two hours.

He said further that he has made awareness in all Traders Associations in Kandy, Matale and Dambulla and that the farmers and businessmen in the area together with the villagers as well as the economic centre are ready to stay in the towns for two hours after closing all shops and business stalls without obstructing transport on the main road.

He pointed out that the demands put forward by Rathana Thera are not meant for his private comforts but they are the demands that help to decide the future of the country.
