Major Unions requests views of all parliamentarians
Five major trade unions of the country have in a letter, requested for an opportunity from all parliamentarians to express their views on the controversial Counter Terrorism Bill.
The letter states that such a bill is necessary to eliminate terrorism but it would not be a solution if it tends to dilute the democratic rights of the people.

Lesly Devendra of the Sri Lanka Nidahas Sevaka Sangamaya, Anton Marcus of Free Trade Zone and General Services Employees Union, Sylvester Jayakody of Ceylon Mercantile Industrial and General Workers Union, Linus Jayathilaka of United Federation of Labour and Palitha Athukorala of National Union of Seafarers have signed the letter.
