Chair­man said that the Pres­i­den­tial polls should be held be­tween Novem­ber 09 and De­cem­ber 08

Chair­man of the Elec­tions Com­mis­sion Mahinda De­shapriya said the Elec­tions Com­mis­sion was ready to hold any elec­tion first, be it Pres­i­den­tial or Provin­cial Coun­cil.

Com­ment­ing on the Pres­i­dent’s com­ment that the Pres­i­den­tial Elec­tion was likely to be held on De­cem­ber 07, the Chair­man said that the Pres­i­den­tial polls should be held be­tween Novem­ber 09 and De­cem­ber 08.

Par­tic­i­pat­ing in a do­mes­tic cam­paign to dis­trib­ute elec­toral reg­is­ters in Ego­dauyana area in Mo­ratuwa,chair­man De­shapriya said that they were al­ways standby like the Fire Bri­gade to face any sit­u­a­tion.

“The Fire Bri­gade will douse any num­ber of fires they hear of, like­wise we are ready to face any num­ber of elec­tions with­out ques­tion,” he
