Don’t fall prey to false propaganda: Jayantha

-

The people of this country should give their utmost support to the security forces personnel and the police to restore normalcy in the country, without falling prey to false propaganda spread by elements with vested interests, Borella UNP organiser and Western Provincial Councillor Jayantha de Silva said recently.

Addressing organisers in his electorate, Mr. de Silva said social websites and unscrupulous websites were working overtime to create a fear psychosis among the people by planting false stories and spreading rumours to discredit the ruling administration.

“The majority intelligent people of this country are aware of these ploys for petty political mileage. It is the duty of the people of this country to understand the dangers of terrorism as well extremist and racist elements who come out in various guises today. As a government we have face this challenge, like we did during the 51-day coup last year,” he said.
