Wasantha, Duminda heckled as they call on Rathana Thera

State Minister Wasantha Senanayake and SLFP National organiser Duminda Dissanayake who arrived at the site where Ven. Athuraliye Rathana Thera was staging a fast was booed by the public.

The people who assembled at the site claimed politicos attempted to gain leverage over the opportunity to score brownie points. However, the State Minister was able to approach the prelate and engage in a conversation.

A journalist who was present at the site inquired from the State Minister about the anger developed by the public against the politicians. He replied saying the actions of politicians had fuelled the situation and that the public had now become frustrated over their behaviour.
