MAHA SANGHA STAGE MASSIVE SATYAGRAHA IN MATARA

Maha Sangha of all temples in the Matara District yesterday stage a massive Satyagraha in front of the Matara Bodhi demanding the governme nt to remove Minister Rishad Bathiudeen from his ministerial portfolio just as Governor Azath Salley and M.L.M. A.

Hisbullah were removed from their posts. They held a Bodhi Pooja to bless Ven. Aturaliye Ratana Thera who called off the fast unto death after winning the demands.

Professor of the Anuradhapura Bhikku University Ven. Kanatthegoda Saddharatana, Chief Incumbent of the Meddawatta Nagabodhi Vihara, Angunnabadulle Gnanadassi, Head of the Viraba Maha Pirivena Ven. Dodampahala Amarasiri, Chief Incumbent of the Aparekka Sepalikaramaya Ven.denagama Sarananda, Lekakadikari of the Matara Sasanarackshaka Balamandala Ven. Paraduwa Jinarathana, P abba thar am ad hi kari Ven. Aturaliye Indrajothi Thera were among the Buddhist monks who participated.
