CMB Se­nior Bad­minton C’ship from June 29

A mil­lion-ru­pee prize bag will be up for grabs at the CMB Se­nior Bad­minton Cham­pi­onship which will be held on June 29 and 30, the or­gan­is­ers, Cey­lon Mas­ters Bad­minton As­so­ci­a­tion (CMBA) an­nounced over the week­end.

The two-day tour­na­ment which will take place at the Royal Col­lege Sports Com­plex in Colombo-7, will see vet­eran shut­ters’ com­pet­ing un­der eight age groups and three com­bined age cat­e­gories, namely, over 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65 and 70 in men’s and women’s sin­gles, dou­bles and mixed dou­bles and men’s and women’s dou­bles for play­ers of com­bined age over 100, 110 and 120.

The prize money will be dis­trib­uted among the Cham­pi­ons and Run­ners up of the re­spec­tive age cat­e­gories while all podium fin­ish­ers will be awarded medals and cer­tifi­cates. The event will be open to all Sri Lankan vet­eran bad­minton play­ers as well as the res­i­dent visa hold­ers.
