Heavy rain in Central hills

Mousakelle and Castlereagh reservoir areas received a heavy rainfall

Western slopes in the central hills have experienced heavy rain from Monday night (03) creating the threat of earth slips and obstruction to traffic. Catchments of Mousakelle and Castlereagh reservoirs were the areas that received a heavy rainfall.

Police said the Colombohatton main road between Ginigathena and Hatton had been obstructed at several locations by mounds of earth and falling trees and added to it was the thick mist that prevented a clear view of the road. The Police warned drivers to be cautious when passing the affected areas.
