CDS takes part in Shangri- La Dialogue
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne, who participated the Shangri-la Dialogue which was held from May 31 to June 2 in Singapore, held bilateral discussions on security aspects in the region with his Singapore counterpart Lieutenant General Melvyn Ong, delegates from the USA, UK and ICRC.
This year’s Dialogue was marked as the 28th Asia Security Summit which was inaugurated by Mr Lee Hsien Loong, the Prime Minister of Singapore with the attendance of ministers, top military officials and most important defence and security policymakers of some 40 countries.
The Shangri-la Dialogue serves as an important platform to discuss wide-ranging security aspects, fostering practical security cooperation among nations and arriving at fresh solutions.
