-

Idea Group of Companies, which offers revolutionary roofing and interior decorating solutions to Sri Lankans, recently engaged in a worthy cause.

The company donated I-panel ceiling sheets as a contribution towards the restoration process of the devastated St. Sebastian’s Church in Katuwapitiya, Negombo.

This project was treated not only as CSR but also as a just cause by a socially responsible Sri Lankan company. The plaque with regard to the donation was handed over to Archbishop of Colombo and Sri Lankan Cardinal of the Catholic Church, Malcolm Ranjith at his official residence, by Idea Group Limited Chairman Sampath Mayakaduwa.

In the event of natural disasters such as floods, landslips, tornadoes and storms occur within the country, all Sri Lankans come forward to assist the masses and so does the Idea Group.

Idea Group came forward to contribute towards renovations of the Katuwapitiya church as a generous gesture towards Catholic community in the country. Idea Group treats all Sri Lankans alike irrespective of their religion, race of caste and believes firmly in coexistence of all communities.

Idea Group Chairman Sampath Mayakaduwa told the Archbishop that his management and workers grieve with the ill fated Catholic people due to the recent bomb blasts.

The largest ASA Polymer factory in South Asia owned by the Idea Group that produces i-panel ceiling sheets and i-roof products is situated at Katana in the vicinity of the devastated church in Katuwapitiya.

Idea group is known by the citizens as a company that engages in CSR throughout the year. It emphasises on areas such as upgrading social lives of people, betterment of the society, renovating places of worship, conservation of the environment and development of education and schools.

Idea Group has greatly contributed towards conservation of forests by introducing eco-friendly products that are not made with wood to the building construction sphere.

In 2013, Idea group expanded its business periphery to unveil ‘Sivilima’ network of showrooms. Within five years Sivilima became a top-of-themind brand and a household name.

In addition to i-panel and i-roof many other eco-friendly products are introduced to the Sri Lankan marketplace by the Idea Group.
