CLARIFICATION

The CBSL has sent the following clarification: The attention of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has been drawn to an article published in the Daily Mirror on June 4 under the heading “Easter Sunday attacks loss from VAT, NBT to reach Rs. 26 bn by year-end-cbsl” which claims that a revenue loss of Rs. 26 billion has been estimated in an internal classified document produced by the CBSL.

The CBSL categorically states that there is no such report by the CBSL that specifies an estimated loss of Rs. 26 billion as the revenue loss.
