Five seriously injured when trishaw collided with a motorcycle

Five passengers including four schoolchildren were seriously injured when a trishaw collided with a motorcycle and fell into a culvert. The injured, in critical condition, were admitted to the Jaffna General Hospital.

Two of the schoolchildren were being transported to school on a motorcycle by their father and the others were walking along the road when the trishaw that veered off the road knocked them down. The motorcycle had fallen into the culvert. However the trishaw driver escaped unhurt.

The crowd that had gathered, attempted to assault the trishaw driver, but the police intervened and arrested him. Jaffna police are conducting further investigations.
