- BY M. SHAMIL AMIT

The high-riding St Joseph’s College which is the only unbeaten team will confront S. Thomas’ College in their Inter-schools Under-19 League Rugby Tournament second-round match at Mount Lavinia today.

The two schools will also battle it out for the Lady Jayatileke Shield.

The Josephians are hoping to retain the Shield for the third successive year having won last year’s match 33-10.

The Josephians led by number eight Tharindu de Alwis are aiming to lift the League title for the first time.

Meanwhile, the Thomians will look to produce the same form after they held the strong Isipathana outfit to a 12-12 draw last week at the same venue.

The Josephians will be banking on Skipper Tharindu de Alwis, Santhush Algama, Tharindu Maduranga, Rashane Gunawardena, Sudaraka Devapriya and Cheka Jayawardena.

The Thomians have in their ranks players of the calibre of Skipper Harith, Lashandra de Silva, Jaan de Zoysa, Rehan Olugala, Shenuk Perera, Ovin Hettiarachchi, Thevin Eriyagama, Sadak Ishak and Sakith Perera to match their opponents.
