UK relaxes travel warning on Sri Lanka

-

The United Kingdom (UK), the third largest source market tourism market of Sri Lanka relaxed its travel warning on Sri Lanka this week, that was imposed in the aftermath of the Easter Sunday attacks.

“Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) Travel Advice has been revised and no longer advises against non-essential travel to Sri Lanka,” the British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka and Maldives, James Dauris said in twitter message.

However, he noted that no foreign travel is risk-free and terrorists are very likely to attempt attacks in many countries.

So far, India, China, Germany, The Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium, Switzerland, Norway and Italy have softened their travel advisories on Sri Lanka.
