Kuwait sup­ports Sri Lankan opera im­pre­sario Eshan Wi­je­w­ar­dena

In keep­ing with its long stand­ing tra­di­tion of sup­port­ing ta­lent across the world, Kuwait Air­ways, the na­tional air­line of Kuwait and an air­line whose im­pres­sive and colour­ful his­tory in Sri Lanka spans over four decades, has taken as­pir­ing opera im­pre­sario Eshan Wi­je­w­ar­dena un­der its wings.

Eshan, an im­mensely gifted tenor, who has trained un­der world renown tenor Sal­va­tore Fisichella, has been se­lected as the only Sri Lankan to be in­vited to com­pete at the com­pet­i­tive au­di­tions for the “Fab­brica” young artist pro­gramme at the Teatro dell’opera di Roma and jets off to Rome on­board Kuwait Air­ways.

“Fab­brica” is the young artist pro­gram of the Teatro dell’opera di Roma, a unique op­por­tu­nity is pre­sented for Ital­ian and for­eign tal­ents whom have com­pleted their train­ing at con­ser­va­to­ries and acad­e­mies and are ready to em­bark on an in­ter­na­tional ca­reer.

Young Eshan speak­ing at the Kuwait Air­ways of­fice in Colombo said: “I am de­lighted an proud to ce­ment by part­ner­ship with Kuwait Air­ways, the world’s youngest fleet and look for­ward to fly­ing with Kuwait Air­ways in all my travel and wish to thank the air­line for the assistance it has pro­vided me in achiev­ing my goals and rep­re­sent­ing Sri Lanka at the “Fab­brica” in Rome”

Kuwait Air­ways Sri Lanka and Mal­dives Coun­try Man­ager Sudesh Ru­pas­inghe said: “Kuwait Air­ways is very keen on as­sist­ing as­pir­ing and tal­ented artistes such as Eshan. Fur­ther, the new des­ti­na­tions and air­craft op­er­at­ing in and out of Colombo have en­abled the air­line to of­fer a vastly im­proved and su­pe­rior qual­ity prod­uct cou­pled with ac­cess to the best tourist des­ti­na­tions in Europe along with the lux­ury and fi­nesse of one of the best First and Busi­ness class cab­ins avail­able to­day.”

Apart from fly­ing to Rome and Mi­lan, Kuwait Air­ways is also happy to in­tro­duce their lat­est des­ti­na­tions of Lar­naca in Cyprus and Nice in France. Both premier holiday des­ti­na­tions will be now ac­ces­si­ble to pas­sen­gers of Kuwait Air­ways as part of their sum­mer flight sched­ule.

Th­ese prime tourist des­ti­na­tions will all be ser­viced by the world’s youngest fleet which in­cludes the air­line’s flag­ship Boe­ing 777-300ER air­craft op­er­at­ing out of Kuwait which is in­deed good news for trav­ellers. Fur­ther, pas­sen­gers will be treated to an en­hanced bag­gage al­lowance and free mem­ber­ship in Kuwait Air­ways’ Oa­sis Club Fre­quent Flyer pro­gramme as an added ben­e­fit.
