Youth arrested for sexually harassing girl

A youth who had sexually harassed his lover after dazing her out with chloroform and tying her up was caught by the girl’s neighbours and was handed over to Biyagama Police on Friday night.

The 24-year-old suspect who works at a private company in Ekala had been carrying on an affair with the 23-year-old girl who works in Colombo.

The couple had come to the girl’s hostel in Biyagama and the incident had happened when the youth had used chloroform to daze her out.

When she was regaining consciousness she had been tied up and being harassed by her partner. Hearing her cries the neighbours in the building had broken the door and had beaten the youth.

Both the youth and the girl had been admitted to Colombo North Teaching Hospital in Ragama by the Biyagama Police. An inquiry is underway.
